| Who we are |
We are a non profit organisation dedicated to facilitating comprehensive and quality eye care in developing countries, especially through the provision of appropriate training. The Foundation is committed to the fundamental human right of health for all and is independent, politically unaligned and secular.

| Our Inspiration |
We carry on the work of the late Professor Fred Hollows (1929-1993). Fred was an eye doctor, a skilled surgeon of international renown, a champion of the right of all people to good health and a strong advocate for social justice.

| What we do |
We work for a world where no-one is needlessly blind. Our work focuses on the prevention of blindness and restoring sight for people who are blind from cataracts or other disorders. We do this by focusing on training and work force support for eye doctors and nurses across the Pacific, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste
| Where we work |
We work with local blindness prevention and health organisations throughout the developing world. In New Zealand our primary focus is in the Pacific Region.
| Our Achievements |
We provide essential eye care throughout the Pacific region, Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste. We offer tertiary-level training at three eye health training centres (in Dili, Madang and Suva). As a result, the number and quality of eye care professionals has risen across the region, as have sight restoring operations, community eyecare and vision screening.
