In mid-November 2009, Mike McRoberts visited our program in Timor-Leste.  He attended a vision screening and refraction outreach in the remote mountain district of Maubisse, and reported on our collaboration with the New Zealand Defence Force to build a temporary operating theatre from a portable container to help restore sight to the 2,000 East Timorese going blind from cataract each year. .
