On a recent holiday to Fiji, Ali and Brett Hopwood saw first-hand the inequity of healthcare in developing countries:

"While my fiancé Brett and I were staying on a small island in Fiji the whole community got severe conjunctivitis, which is highly infectious. Resort owners and tourists received eye cream but the locals were forced to wash their eyes in dirty water because no cream was available for them.

It made us think about how something so easily available to everyone in New Zealand just isn't available to these gorgeous people. So when we were organising our wedding we decided that, in place of gifts, we would ask for donations to The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ.

The money raised from our wedding will go towards helping restore sight to those living with avoidable blindness in Fiji, which we're thrilled about".
