Teaching Resource Pack

This great teaching resource kit contains all you will need to plan and execute many exciting and stimulating lessons that can be adapted and used in primary, intermediate and secondary class rooms.

We will include information on our latest program work too, and can add further material dependent on your school's requirements.

 

Social studies pack contents:

1) New Zealand's Top 100 History Makers (Prime television) - with audio deletions: A two minute program about Fred Hollows (with audio deletions)

2) Cataract surgery: One and a half minutes of silent footage of a cataract being removed from the eye (warning - not for the faint hearted)

3) Deonisia receives the Gift of Sight: A moving four minute story about a woman in Fiji who has her sight restored after nine years of blindness- as featured on Campbell Live

4) New Zealand's Top 100 History Makers (Prime television). No audio deletions

  • IOL sample (small plastic intraocular lens that replaces the clouded cataract lens and enables the eye to focus). Sample kindly supplied by Alcon
  • 5 x Cataract masks. Experience what it is like to be cataract blind!
  • Make a Spectacle of Yourself Brochure (Fundraising stories and ideas- great for social action)

Cost:

  • $20 including GST and postage.
  • The DVD's can be purchased separately for $8 including GST and postage.
  • IOLs and cataract masks are available on request, but we may ask for a small donation or a commitment to fundraising for us, depending on the number required.
