The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ works throughout the Pacific region, from Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste in the west to the Cook Islands in the east. There are three main programs:

We work with local partners in Port Moresby, Madang and West New Britain. Our program focuses on the establishment of comprehensive eye health systems with a particular emphasis on the development of human resources and infrastructure at primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

With country partners we are currently establishing a nationwide, comprehensive National Eye Health Strategy for the development and implementation of eye health services to treat blindness in one of the region's poorest countries.

The Pacific Regional Blindness Program encompasses all countries of the Pacific, including Vanuatu, the Cook Islands, Niue, Fiji, Samoa, the Solomon Islands and Tuvalu.
The program is based on developing human resources at all levels and is centrally based at The Pacific Eye Institute in Suva, Fiji.
Globally The Fred Hollows Foundation works in collaboration with local blindness prevention and other health organisations in more than 20 countries throughout Africa, Asia (South Asia and South East Asia) and Australia. These programs are managed by The Fred Hollows Foundation in Australia and The Fred Hollows Foundation in the UK.
