Education Manager, Fiji 

The Fred Hollows Foundation New Zealand is seeking an experienced Education Manager for its eye nurse training program at the Pacific Eye Institute Suva (Fiji).

This exciting role is responsible for all aspects of the academic program and workforce support for eye nurse graduates, as well as offering possibilities for eye care research.

FHFNZ is establishing a database of contractors with management, health/eye health education, or program experience in the health sector in developing countries, especially the Pacific.

Once approved for inclusion on this database, contractors will be invited to tender for short-term consultancies, as the need arises, within our eye health programs.

In particular, The Foundation is seeking interest from contractors with expertise in the following fields:

  • Management of tertiary level academic institutions
  • Management within the public health sector in developing countries
  • Management of clinical services, especially in a teaching hospital environment or Pacific country
  • Policy development for education and/or health services
  • Curriculum development or assessment
  • Health program impact or evaluation
  • Health research in developing countries
  • Optometry or eye health

In New Zealand:

The Foundation welcomes enquiries from interested people to volunteer in our New Zealand office.  These opportunities generally involve administrative support to our Auckland based staff. However, if you have a particular skill that you think The Foundation could benefit from we would like to hear from you.  Please contact us.
