Jean Kisiani, 56, from Dobu Island in Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea, was bilaterally blind from cataract.
A fiercely independent grandmother, she now has to rely on her daughter, Flora, for her daily care. Flora had given up her job as the village teacher to care for Jean.
