Solomon Islands surgical outreach August 2012
This gallery documents the The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ's surgical outreach in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands.
More than 300 patients came to the outreach clinic hoping to have their sight restored over the week.
The surgical team flew in from the Pacific Eye Institute in Suva, a training centre for Pacific eye health workers established by The Foundation in 2006.

Help keep Fred’s dream alive.
4 out of 5 people who are blind in the developing world don't need to be. Routine treatment costing as little as $25 can restore sight and hope.
