Grandma takes a daring leap for sight

Last week one of our donors became the oldest person to bungy jump off the Auckland Harbour Bridge. As a long-term supporter of The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ, 91-year-old Dorothy Pattison used the opportunity to raise some money for The Foundation.

She did the jump with her son Michael (60) and granddaughter Jeanie (24) and said doing it alongside her family made it a particularly special experience.

It was a lovely day to jump, with the sun shining and a view across the city. Dorothy, who has a deep connection Takapuna on the North Shore, says she has seen the area from land, from the sea and even from the sky, but this was the first time she has seen it hanging by a rope from the bridge.
