Right here in the Pacific 80,000 people are needlessly blind. It’s a very scary number but with your help these people can see again.
Sight can often be restored for as little as $25.
The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ is a charity dedicated to continuing the legacy of Professor Fred Hollows. Fred was a world-leading eye surgeon, humanitarian and good Kiwi bloke. He dedicated his life to restoring the sight of people in need. Like Fred, we tackle problems with our sleeves rolled up. We work across the Pacific to give people the eye care skills and equipment they need to help themselves.
We have the tools and technology to restore sight and transform lives. The only thing that holds us back is money.
That’s why your donation is all that’s needed to help a blind person see.
We met Skolastika just in time.
Skolastika lives in a remote village in the Solomon Islands where there is no eye care. She knew her sight was deteriorating but she didn't know about the cataract forming in her eye that would eventually steal her sight.
Luckily, a visiting outreach team from The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ screened Skolastika and told her they could restore her sight.
Thanks to a 20 minute surgery, she is now back at school and can continue her education. Hers is just one of the amazing stories we can tell. With your help we can do even more.
