Donations of $5 and over are tax deductible in New Zealand.
Since 1st April 2008 individuals can claim 33.3% up to the limit of their total annual income and companies to the limit of their annual net income. Small businesses with five or fewer shareholders are also included in the company deduction for the first time.
The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ can accept your tax rebate because we are approved by the Inland Revenue Department as a donee organisation and are also registered with the Charities Commission, which monitors charities on its register.
If you do not claim your tax rebate the money remains with the government. However, if you claim your rebate and donate it to The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ, you can make your initial donation work again.
