Your gift can give sight and independence back to people like Ofa

Ofa is a proud woman who has always been determined to look after herself, but when cataracts robbed her of her sight, she felt like a burden on her family.

Eventually, her vision deteriorated to the point where she was forced to stop work and had to rely on her youngest daughter, Pasikole, for everything.

You can help people in the Pacific

Cataracts are a treatable condition, but there is no eye doctor in Tonga who can perform the surgery to remove them. Ofa was told to come back when the next team of eye doctors was due to visit Tonga. While she waited, she felt helpless and alone.

Through the kindness of someone just like you, Ofa was able to travel to the mainland a few months later to have her cataracts removed. When the bandages came off, her reaction was overwhelming.

"I can see the land! It is green, it looks beautiful! I was worried about the operation but it was so quick and I had support from the medical team, so I am very happy. I appreciate that there are people that are loving and send donations so I can have my sight restored and feel whole again."

Please send a gift today so we can train eye doctors and nurses in the Pacific and give more people like Ofa access to sight-restoring eye care.
