We’re inspired by the work and life of our founder, Kiwi eye doctor Fred Hollows, and his vision to provide high-quality eye care to everyone who needs it.
We work with communities throughout the Pacific to restore sight and create sustainable change. We train local doctors, nurses and health workers to deliver eye care services in their own communities, and we partner with governments to strengthen local eye healthcare systems. We build and equip clinics and come up with innovative ways to reach people in need — like our Mobile Eye Clinic in Fiji.
Here in New Zealand, we raise vital funds to support the delivery of this work.
Our workplace culture is shaped by our values. It isn’t just about what we do, but how we do it.
Integrity
Our relationships with supporters, partners and those with whom we work are carried out with integrity, transparency, honesty and objectivity.
Responsibility
We protect the health, wellbeing, safety and security of our workers, patients and students.
Respect
We treat people fairly, with dignity and respect.
Accountability
We have a responsibility towards our people, partners and communities, as well as property, and information. We adhere to laws, regulations and policies that are relevant to the areas in which we operate.
As part of our team, you will help drive long-term, meaningful change. Every role makes a difference and contributes to our goal of ending to avoidable blindness and vision impairment in the Pacific.
We foster a creative, healthy, positive and encouraging work environment so that our team reaches their full potential and has fun along the way. It’s important to us that you feel respected and can be yourself while doing the best work of your life.
Our commitment to inclusion extends through all our eye care programs and the way we operate as a team. We champion Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) across all aspects of our work.
